I have questions regarding computer editing and system interaction.
computer crashes, terminology, and the general industry Horse CR!! I am having to contend with.
My inexperience with terms and the digital domain have something to do with it but when my video card's guide book (Studio DC10 plus) said see chapter 12 and there WAS NO CHAPTER 12...
I almost get the feeling that this is indicitive of the industry. My computer has more useless audio video clips and bites on it from the factory than I can count. 2min here 3min there. A 2min audio video realtime presentation from micro soft that pops up like wack a mole at times of it's own demented choosing.
There has to be an optimum way to do any one thing without a masters degree in computer science.
If I am way off base here or just bemoaning my own lack of digital experence.
Please do no worry about insulting me.
Any and all comments, stories or advice will be considered.

Take it easy Ralph, and be patient. It took
me a few weeks to get up to speed using Adobe Premier and the DC30, and I *do* have an Masters degree (not in computer science, but Maths) and 5 years experience working with computers.
What set up do you have?

I promise the glitches and crashes will never go away, but you can learn to minimalize them. What about your extensions manager, when you edit, do you disable all your extras in the computer? This can make a big difference. Are you using mac or pc?

Ralph,
Go to www.adobepremierworld.com they have alot of neat articles about Premier. Also check out the adobe web site (www.abode.com). There you will find some advice on how to optimize windows 95/98 for use with premier. Here is the exact address: http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/144f6.htm
Hope this helps!!
